The Traveldesk was created in 6 months from conception to prototyping for a 3rd year Industrial Design subject. It is a mobile folding desk and storage unit designed to save space in small homes.
A major challenge that was overcome was figuring out a folding mechanism that would elegantly provide a large, sturdy and stable workspace. This was achieved through a self collapsing hinged system with a vanity flap that locks the outer legs in position while reinforcing and stiffening the desktop surface.
